2016 NFL Playoff Predictions: Wildcard

AFC

Chiefs vs Texans (3:20pm central time, ESPN)

Prediction: Chiefs 23 Texans 14

Why?: Well KC has won 10 straight and yeah, yeah, yeah, I know like 8 of those 10 teams they played suck, but Houston plays in the worst division (NFC East is also disgusting) and they're only 9-7.  Now I'm sure ESPN will give you all the JJ Swat coverage because he's just the greatest human being to walk the planet apparently, and you might not even know the Chiefs are actually who they're playing, you may be led to believe it's just JJ Watt on the field and that's all that matters.  When it comes to NFL predictions, especially in the playoffs, I don't bother doing a ton of research, it's a gut thing for me, and my gut says KC makes it 11 straight this weekend.  It also says the most dominant attention whore in the league JJ deserves to lose after the worst sack celebration of all time seen here:

I hate the fact I share a home state with him, you think it'd be a point of pride, but I can't stomach that asshole.  Also Houston doesn't have a quarterback, and you don't have postseason success without one, even if JJ Watt is on your team.

Steelers vs Bengals (7:15pm central, CBS)

Prediction:Steelers 31 Bengals 28

Why?:  Honestly I went back and forth a lot on this one.  Bengals played well all year finally won more than 10 games, but without Dalton I don't know if they can beat the Steelers, because let's be honest, the playoffs are just what the Steelers do.  They show up and just win games.  I think Big Ben has a big game and Pittsburgh wins, I actually think McCarron plays well but I'm not betting against the Steelers in January especially against a pretty good team that is missing their starting quarterback.  That being said AJ is pretty much in the same spot he was during his entire career at Alabama, just play ok don't turn it over and the team will do the rest.  Like that's literally ever Bama qb in the Saban era, so who knows.  I'm going Steelers but it could easily be Bengals.

NFC

Seahawks vs Vikings (12:05pm central, NBC)

Prediction: Vikings 28 Seahawks 27

Why?: Look, I know the last time these two teams played was a few weeks ago in Minnesota and the Vikes got WAXED 38-7.  After that they finished 3-1 losing by 3 to Arizona then crushing Chicago and New York (Giants) before coming to Lambeau and ripping my heart out last weekend.  They're a different team.  Seattle has been red hot, especially Russell Wilson, but people seem to forget that two weeks ago they dropped a baaaaad game to a lowly Rams team.  Russell didn't play well, but I guess destroying Arizona helps people forget about that.  I just think Minnesota will win, I think Seattle's the kind of team that will overlook this game because they had zero issue with them earlier this year.

Packers vs Redskins (3:40pm central, FOX)

Prediction: Redskins 28 Packers 24

Why?: I have no idea what to make of my Packers at this point.  The defense for the first time since we won the Super Bowl in 2011 is playing great, but our offense is pathetic, and that's an understatement.  They are just infuriatingly inconsistent/flat out awful.  It's like that brutal Denver was a car wreck that left them paralyzed.  Yeah they can still do some stuff, but for the most part they're pathetic.  The Redskins finished 9-7 playing in the other worst division in football, but they're winners of 4 straight and TE Jordan Reed is balling right now.  The Packers don't do a great job with tight ends so that's a big plus for Washington right there.  I don't believe wholeheartedly enough that the Packers will win, as bad as I want them to, so I'm playing it safe and taking the much hotter Washington Redskins to end my teams season on Sunday afternoon.

Johnny Manziel Allegedly Parties In Vegas Using Fake Mustache and Wig

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2605156-report-johnny-manziel-used-wig-and-fake-mustache-while-partying-in-las-vegas

"Hey I'm Billy, Billy Football."

I wrote a whole blog a while back defending Johnny and he comes back and does ok, and then he (allegedly) pulls this shit.  I honestly think I may be the only person left in his corner, and basically I'm not ditching him because I'm in waaayyy too deep at this point.  I honestly still believe he can be a good NFL quarterback, and I honestly believe he gets unfair treatment and partying is not that big of a deal, if other athletes were as closely watched and scrutinized like Johnny there'd be a lot of guys people would hate and would struggle as well.  Again I never said he'd be dominant and a perennial pro-bowler and multiple MVP winner, but people doubted Cam Newton too (stretch of a comparison I know, I know) but if people would just ease off him just a little bit and let the kid play and figure this out on his own, I guarantee he will.  But now back to this outrageous story.  A fake wig and mustache, calling himself Billy?  Be a little bit more inventive Johnny.  If you're going to but zero effort into a cover name then you should just go with McLovin.  And the fake wig and mustache and he still get's (allegedly) recognized?  Dude, if you pull out those stops and it still doesn't work then you put no effort into that as well.  If you're going to go the fake hair/mustache/name route and you come up with Billy and you still get recognized then you suck at disguises and should have just shown up full Johnny no gimmicks and basically stick it to the Browns.  If you're going to no show your teams final game to party in Vegas, what's the point of a disguise anyway?  You really think they think that you're just sitting at home or something?  You know damn well the first thought that crossed the minds of Ray Farmer and Mike Pettine was "Goddammit he's out partying his ass off and we have a game today."  Didn't almost this exact situation happen last year?  Last game, he was hurt, and he no showed because he partied the night before?  Johnny you have the talent, I still believe in you, but I need you to pull your head out of your ass.  I don't care that you party, you just have to know the time and place, it's not that hard, and plus I think if I stop being your fan you would not have any left, so again you need to find a balance, a new team, whatever because nothing will get better for you if you keep doing this shit

The Case For Johnny Manziel

So Johnny Manziel was named the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns' last four games.  He's made 3 starts this season going 1-2 and his stats this year are 933 yards, (712 in those starts) 5 touchdowns 2 interceptions, and a completion percentage of 59.4% which isn't that bad.  In fact in his last start, which was against Pittsburgh, Johnny threw for 372 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.3% of his passes.  Now I know people don't like him because they think he's too cocky or because he goes out and parties, but I think all that is way too overblown.  Guarantee nobody would know about 90% of his antics if this was even 10 years ago.  If you put players from past era's into 2015, do you know how much of this shit would be happening?  A lot of it.  Could you imagine the Cocaine Cowboys with social media?  Even Brett Favre, great football player, but he's been accused of cheating on his wife a lot, and there are stories that Favre would be out drinking before game day regularly, Johnny parties a little on his bye week and big bad Pettine demotes him to third string.  Now personally I do not think Cleveland and Johnny are a good fit, literally anywhere else would be a better fit, owner Jim Irsay pushed for him to be drafted, and Mike Pettine really seems to hate Money Manziel.  Pettine would be that high school coach that tells you a drop of alcohol would cause you to lose a weeks worth of training or some bullshit like that.  Also the Browns have no receivers, a bad line outside of Joe Thomas, no running game, and a defense that everyone keeps expecting to be good that just sucks.  Manziel likely won't be the human highlight reel he was in college in the NFL, but football is a team game and he's been doing pretty good with minimal support.  Quick point, I also think Dallas would be a terrible place for Johnny, so anywhere but Dallas and Cleveland.  I think he simply needs time to continue to adjust to the NFL game, guys twice his size are just as fast, the playbook is 500 times as thick, he's gotta earn respect from the vets, and so on.  Also I think he needs a coach who's going to want him and support him and back him to the media or whoever, not Mike who looks for any reason to not play him, and is so back and forth and won't pump him up too much when he actually deserves it.  Now I don't know what their relationship is like off camera, but I can't imagine it's that great.  You know why Manziel ripped the SEC apart for two years?  He was confident and Kevin Sumlin was behind him 100%, he allowed Manziel to be himself and thrive.  As for what we can expect from Money Manziel these last four weeks (barring another Pettine change of heart) probably not a ton.  They play the 49ers, Seahawks, Chiefs, and Steelers.  I think he'll do well against San Fran, maybe 200+ yards and 2 TDs.  Seattle will probably be just brutal, he'll probably be under a lot of pressure and the dumpster fire that is the Cleveland receiving corps will struggle to get open.  Kansas City has a good defense but again maybe a 150-250 yard game and a TD or maybe two.  I think he can go 300+ on Pittsburgh at home, the Steelers have given up some big games to quarterbacks, and he already did it.  Then we'll see what happens in the offseason regarding Manziel and Cleveland.  If it's not going to work out there I have a couple places I'd like to see him.

New York Jets, he'd have good receivers, especially in Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker, and they need a qb, and I think he'd be the playmaker on offense the Jets need to take the next step.  The NY media concerns me though, they'd hound him like no other and if he struggles they'd crush him.

St. Louis, Todd Gurley, a solid defense, not to mention the Ram's greatly need a qb and the Manziel to Tavon Austin deep connection would be much better than Manziel to Benjamin now.

Kansas City, Andy Reid is known to be good with quarterbacks, and Alex Smith is good but at this point in his career has proven he won't be anything special, and Johnny is a high risk/potentially high reward option that could help the Chiefs going forward.

Washington Redskins, eh maybe not, but I just thought about Austin-Manziel deep connection, imagine Johnny just rolling out and firing downfield to D-JAX, unstoppable.

Thats really it, I could've said Green Bay because I'd love it and he could learn a lot from Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy, or Houston because they need a quarterback, but JJ Watt is such a tool, that dynamic between him and Johnny would be poor at best.  I'd just like to point out that everyone is all over Johnny all the time, but number one pick Jadeveion Clowney had been a huge bust, he was supposed to be the next dominant pass rusher but he's been either hurt or sucking.
