What the shirts were actually used for:
Ok, this story was out there last week and now that ESPN is making a big deal about it I guess I'll throw in my two cents. I guess the sports angle is that two of them play soccer? That's pretty weak. Anyway, if you have shirts with asterisks on them you gotta expect kids to pose in pictures in an order that spells swears. Common knowledge. Now going for the n word is very aggressive, and is it a bad move? Terrible move. Growing up in a town were I honestly think 2% of the population is black (not even an exaggeration, it might be less honestly) if I had a dollar for every time I heard a white kid say that, I'd have a couple hundred dollars. And for the love of God spare me the sob story ESPN alright? Black people have every right to be upset over this sure, but if you can't see that they just did it because they're dumbass high schoolers doing something dumbass high school kids do that's pretty sad. If I had to bet, I'd put money on them having zero intention of being hateful or racist. Going back to white people saying the n word, anytime I've heard a white girl use it they thought it was the funniest damn thing in the world. I think these girls are probably just stupid, not bigots. Probably thought this was gonna get SO many likes on Insta. Probably thought "omg know what would be hilarious? If we stood in a way that our shirts spell 'ni**er'!!!" I get why it's offensive, it's obvious, but I mean come on now. They're dumb high schoolers that are now probably being cyber bullied by the pc people and black rights groups so let's just chalk this one up to stupidity/ignorance and not try and make this out to be a hate crime ok? Ok.
NOTE: Just watched the video and the people being interviewed were very sensible and didn't overreact. So if you didn't figure it out in the first place my take was on the national reaction and the fact people want the girls expelled or severely punished.
