So after declaring yesterday a new low for Johnny Manziel, it's safe to say I was wrong. THIS has to be the new low, and how much lower can it get before it starts to rise? If he ever does rise. There could be no bigger, brighter, louder red flag than everything that's happened this Friday, and it's still very early in the day. Let's start with his agent cutting ties with him. You're Johnny Football, coming out of A&M that was marketing enough, there was so much hype, and for an agent to cut ties with an NFL QUARTERBACK there needs to be something seriously, seriously wrong. Any agent wouldn't just up and drop a quarterback (because they make them the most money if you didn't know) unless he thought the ride was over and there was no way he's going to be of value to him. So if a grease ball that makes a living off of your living wants to give up on you that is no bueno. No bueno at all. Next about these penalties, all the NFL said was there can be an expectation of "significant" penalties. What more can you take from this guy? He's going to be cut and word on the street is even the Cowboys aren't going to pursue him anymore. He likely won't have a team anyway and now if you suspend him or anything it doesn't really change much now does it? And I've been looking and I can't find anything that says there was evidence he actually did hit her. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places? But it happened in Texas and I find it hard to believe he actually hit her if police in TEXAS didn't charge him. So how can you penalize him if he didn't really do anything? You're going to penalize him for being a nuisance? Anyway the third thing, Johnny Manziel's father saying publicly, to the media, he thinks Manziel really might kill himself. If that doesn't wake you up even a little bit, nothing will. If you can't even attempt to turn your life around for your own father, or both your parents, or your whole goddamn family then it really must be the end of the ride. Refusing help as your family begs you to get it? Somethings gotta change, and it's gotta change NOW. Forget his football life, he may have not have an actual life if this keeps up. People rooting for Manziel to just keep falling are assholes. You don't need to love him, he's not that lovable a guy, but it's apparent this man is on the edge and reveling in it is helping no one. I still support him because at the very least I always have and I'm in way to deep to jump ship now. But maybe if people would just ease up on him and save the over the top scrutiny, not because he deserves it but because it clearly does a lot of damage. Also people ranting about him and how he sucks and needs to change on tv or the internet obviously hasn't gotten him to change, like I just said I think it makes things worse. Maybe Browns fans had it right, maybe we should just stop talking about him and just let him figure shit out. That won't happen because people can't stop talking about him and enjoying his downfall, and I mean he's page views. But if we all keep pushing he's only going to fall off that edge.
PS- I almost didn't want to write this one because it seems anytime I write about Johnny something worse happens. So if he does kill himself I'll take the blame for that one, I'll do the time.
