Weekend Rewind

First weekend of no NFL (the pro-bowl doesn't count, it sucks and you know it) so instead I'll be running back some of the highlights.  Basically it'll be some mini-blogs that I was to lazy to actually do over the weekend.

Fans In Philly Fish For Steph Curry's Autograph.  Literally.

This is just a savvy move.  After a while I'd imagine it's boring when kids just walk up to you with a sharpie and something and expect an autograph.  These guys going the extra mile by actually fishing for an autograph?  How can anyone say no to that?  Even the most selfish celebrity or athlete couldn't say no to that.  A+ effort, then the Warriors almost lost to the 6ers thanks to the most brutal 4th quarter I've seen from any team in years.

Man Who Invented The Jump Shot Dies At 95

Now I just saw the headline, didn't even read the story.  I just wanted to thank that man, if nobody had invented the jump shot then short white kids like me would have no chance at all to play the wonderful game of basketball.

Kansas Survives Kentucky In OT Saturday Joel Embiid Tweets This:

Yeah, suck it former Kentucky one and done guys!  From a former Kansas one and done.  Are you even allowed to be that supportive of a school you didn't even graduate from?  And while Kentucky is ass is Joel even allowed to take shots at (teammate) Nerlens Noel and Laker Julius Randle?  I mean they play Joel, you break your foot every time you walk apparently.  Still an all time great tweet though, there is beauty in simplicity folks, remember that.

NFL Pro Bowl

Ha.  Just kidding, I didn't even watch it, couldn't even tell you who won.  Worst all-star game of the four major sports.

Megatron Retires

As a Packer fan, I'm kinda relieved because now Detroit goes from minimal threat to basically no threat.  But Calvin Johnson is a freak of nature who is unbelievable, best receiver in the game for sure.  I feel bad for Lions fans, Detroit is a shit hole, your team constantly sucks, and now a second surefire hall-of-fame guy retires at 30.  What do you think hurts Lions fans more: losing Barry Sanders and now Calvin Johnson to retirement at 30 because they don't want to play in Detroit anymore or an 0-16 season?

John Scott Owns NHL All-Star Game

Not exactly, but I watched the first two games that saw the Atlantic Division beat the Metropolitan 4-3 and the Pacific (Scott's team) beat the Central 9-6.  Didn't see the final because I watched Wisconsin-Illinois and Golden State-New York instead, but the Pacific won 1-0 so I missed basically nothing.  John Scott, the man the NHL tried to get out of the game, scored 2 goals in the first game.  He has 5 goals in his entire career.  He was also named All-Star game MVP and though he may not have actually deserved to be an All-Star he actually deserved MVP.  Great end to a great story.
