NFL Playoffs: Divisional Weekend Recap

Patriots 27 Chiefs 20

Well, I went with the popular upset pick and was wrong.  Was a very rough weekend prediction wise going 1-3, so if you used my predictions for any reason other than you just read them for entertainment, or stumbled upon them randomly, my apologies.  But back to this game, the Pats controlled the game, but the Chiefs still found themselves with a chance.  But Andy Reid still hasn't figured out how to manage the clock and took FOREVER when his team needed to pick up the pace.  It really wasn't that entertaining if you're not a Patriot fan.  But there was this:

Another reason that play was great is because that catch by Avant gives me reason to play this:

Anyway, Alex Smith may be the most underrated athlete in the NFL.  Guy can move.  But Tom Brady tried to run for a score (didn't get in but lead to him just sneaking it in anyway):

Which lead to just the cutest Facebook exchange ever!!!!

Awww you guys, #bestiessssssss!!!!!!!  Gross, but I guess when you keep winning you can do stuff like that and your fans (who lost title of most obnoxious to Seattle but they still suck) will think it's the best/funniest thing ever.  You know, instead of thinking it's really lame and something people don't do once they stop being 13 year old girls.  Grow up and just let your fans come up with conspiracies about the NFL hating you like the good ol days (AKA last year after deflategate).  So now they have to travel to Denver who nobody is giving a chance, and they'll win.  Good effort by KC in the end though, too bad your coach was getting the plays in about as fast as it takes him to run 100 yards.

Cardinals 26 Packers 20

All time classic game that saw the Packers lose again.  Like watching the 2007 NFC championship game when Lawrence Tynes kept missing kicks and we survived to OT and Brett Favre did what he did best and threw a pick in overtime that led to New York finally making a field goal to end our 13-3 season.  Or like 2009 against the Cardinals when we made a crazy comeback and Rodgers was face masked as he threw and it ended up being a pick 6 in OT and we lost that game 51-45.  Or like last year's NFC championship game when we outplayed the Seahawks for 3 and a half quarters but they made a comeback, we tied it and then God willed Seattle to a win on a bomb, well according to Russell Wilson that's why.  Aaron Rodgers had no receivers left after Randall Cobb bruised his lung doing this:

Didn't count due to offsetting penalties, but man was it great.  Now actually, Jeff Janis is really fast, and Jared Abbrederis is pretty solid, but c'mon those two and James Jones were what Rodgers had to work with and we competed with one of the top 3 teams in the NFL.  Granted Carson Palmer was terrible, and Bruce Arians tried to drive the dagger deeper by throwing late in the game and had to settle for a field goal which led to this chain of events:

I lost my mind after that, but unfortunately that led to #coinflipgate:

So that ref, aside from missing every holding call on Arizona of course, is completely and totally incompetent.  Can't even flip the damn coin, not even one flip, nope he flying saucered that shit.  So then Arizona got the ball to start and THIS happened on their first play:

and then two plays later:

YUP, that's it for my NFL fandom season, now all I have to root for is a Patriot loss.  But it's ok because I'm a fan of the future Super Bowl 51 champions.

Panthers 31 Seahawks 21

This game started off great:

But you know the Seahawks were gonna come back right?  You knew.

Thankfully though, their luck ran out (shocking I know) and there will be no Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl this year!!

Broncos 23 Steelers 16

Big Ben looked pretty good on account of the fact the man is indestructible.  I found this game to be pretty boring, even though it was close most the time.  No Antonio Brown, or DeAngelo Williams really hurt them I think, they didn't have enough weapons to make enough big plays.  Those guys played their hearts out no doubt, but like I said, I think Denver has the best defense in the NFL, and New England's wideouts will have a tougher time getting open in my opinion.  Peyton was dishing out ducks all day, and had a lot of drops.  Broncos drop the ball next weekend they have zero shot at beating the Pats, no matter how good their defense is.  This may have been the biggest hit of the game:

Now here's my favorite play of the game:

Savvy move by old man Peyton.  Trick the defense into thinking you just collapsed, get up, complete the pass, first down, boom.

From there Denver went on to win, Peyton looked pretty ok, if Denver can run the ball and slow down Brady then they have a real shot at making it to the Super Bowl.

That's it, sorry it's so late, I had trouble with the HTML for forever, so hopefully you're still in the mood to look back at the weekend that was in the NFL.
