Ohio State & Nike Agree To $252 Million Extension. Deal Includes Scholarships & Monetary Support

So it appears we have our first steps towards college athletes getting paid, and leave it to the rats at Ohio State to be the first.  Well technically not the first because boosters and agents have been doing this for AGES, but the first within the rules I guess.  Now it doesn't look like OSU is going to just be writing checks to students and athletes, but it is a step in what I would agree is the right (albeit unnecessary) direction, and I think it's inevitable that student-athletes will be paid to play major college sports.  I mean if they ever make an NCAA football (or even basketball) video game again the athletes are entitled to compensation for use of their likeness.  But let me get back to the fact that OSU is the school getting this deal.  OF COURSE Ohio is the school making that headline, I cannot stress how much it sucks to have Wisconsin in the same conference as Urban Meyer and OSU and now Jim Harbaugh at Michigan.  Now OSU is trying to make it sound like athletes will be paid to go there?  Urban needs 0 help recruiting, he doesn't need this, UW announced a new deal with Under Armour starting next year in the fall, how come they didn't think of that?  I am convinced you need to be a Nike school, not only because they have the best uniforms, apparel, and overall quality of anything they make, but they dish out contracts so huge you can afford to be giving monetary support to athletes and students alike!  So any school that leaves Nike for some horse shit company like Adidas (Arizona State, Miami) they are ridiculously stupid, even if the other company throws more money at you, if you are a decent program there are way more benefits to being a Nike school.  Also do you think recent Nike lifer LeBron had anything to do with this deal?  After all Ohio State is the school he never went to, yet he supports them like he did.  Him being a fan aside I've never seen a pro athlete try harder to associate themselves with a college they never went to.  I bet if they sucked he'd never support them in any way, dude's a frontrunner, I mean for god's sake he says he reps Cleveland so hard but he's known as a  big Cowboys and Yankees fan (not Browns and Indians) and rooted for the Jordan Bulls (like most people sure) who constantly murdered the Cavaliers.  Him supporting Ohio State is the only Ohio thing about him.  He won't win in Cleveland and leave them again, hell he might play at OSU, he's still got four years of eligibility left right?  Sounds like four rings to me!  Whatever, bottom line:  I hate everything about this deal, OSU is the last school (other than Bama) that needs this deal, and LeBron is the worst, Urban faked his heart attack, took a year off, and now my life is much harder because he coaches in the Big Ten.
